Description
This trip leads in middle Germany from north to south following the course of the ancient trading routes from Germany into Italy and combines beautiful countryside, castles and historical towns.
You will start cycling near Bad Mergentheim and cycle south along the picturesque Tauber River to Rothenburg, considered one of the most beautiful small German towns. Next you ride through undulating and flat terrain to Dinkelsbühl, almost completely preserved in its 17th century state. The route continues to Harburg to see the impressive old castle before you come to the mighty Danube River at Donauwörth. After visiting Augsburg, the largest and most important town in late medieval and early renaissance times, you continue along the Lech River to Landsberg. With a visit to the picturesque castle of Neuschwanstein at the foot of the Alps you'll end this fantastic bicycle trip.
