Description On the trip you will cycle in the Alto Adige (South Tyrol) and Trentino areas in the north and north eastern part of Italy. You'll start not far from the Austrian and Swiss borders and end in the Sugana Valley east of Trento. You start cycling close to the Austrian border in the part of Italy where people speak German and you follow the Adige (Etsch) river on beautifully laid-out bike paths till the spa-town of Merano, and later to Bolzano, home of the famous ice-man Otzi. After Bolzano you cross the language border and enter the Italian speaking part north of Trento. There are many highlights, magnificent castles, great nature with apple orchards, tremendous amount of vineyards, the great cultural towns like Merano, Bolzano and Trento. And not to forget the excellent food and beverages.
Bicycling
Easy to moderate riding, average 25 to 35 miles per day. Few minor hills hills but mainly flat and lots of downhill. One of our staff will bike with you to guide you through the lovely towns and present some of the local history and a support van/driver is also available to assist as needed. Bike rental of 24 speed hybrid bike is included in trip price.
Pricing
$ 3100 double occupancy, 10 days, 4 two-night stays and one 1-night stay, 8 dinners and all breakfasts included in luxury 4-star hotels. Single supplement $ 500.
