Description This fantastic trip will acquaint you with the little known, authentic Portugal. You'll cycle through the cultural and historical heartland north of Lisbon till Coimbra, then across the Serra hills and looping inland into the charming Alentejo ending in Monsaraz. This is fantastic riding and cultural experience with exceptional sights: medieval castles, Roman ruins, whitewashed villages, quaint town squares, empty countryside with gnarled olive trees, and vineyards. This trip is scheduled for spring when temperatures are ideal for bicycling.
Bicycling Moderate with some hard riding, average 55 to 60 miles per day, shorter days at beginning and end, some long days in the middle. Support van/driver with daily route descriptions provides a self-paced adventure with support when needed. Bring your own bike, no rental available.
Pricing $2200 double occupancy, 11 days/10 nights, 4 dinners included, excellent value for money with accommodations in charming 3 and 4-star hotels. Single supplement $500.
