Description
On this easy trip you will follow the route along the majestic Danube river and bicycle through breathtaking countryside with quaint villages and historic towns on both sides of this colourful waterway. Starting in Upper Austria close to the German border, you will bicycle into the Strudengau and the Nibelingengau regions considered to be the most beautiful parts of Austria. Later you pass through the Wachau, the center of wine cultivation in Austria with many historical sights. You travel through the heartland of the former powerful Habsburg Empire of Austria/Hungary, located at the intersection of the two great trade routes along the Danube and from the Baltic to Italy. Bicycling in this country is a delight, with splendid views of both the river and the surrounding countryside.

Easy to very easing riding, average 20 to 30 miles per day with many stops.
