$ 5400 double occupancy, single supplement $750. 10 days/9 nights, 5 dinners and all breakfasts included, accommodations in 4 star hotels in Eisenach, Arnstadt, Ilmenau, Weimar and Erfurt; 4 two-night stays and 1 one-night stay. 

 

Arrival and Departure

Pick up at Eisenach train station (easy to reach from Frankfurt or Berlin), drop off at Frankfurt Airport.

 

Day by Day

  •  Eisenach (2 nights): Visit the magnificent Wartburg castle where Luther translated the bible (and threw the inkpot at the devil)
     

  • Arnstadt (1 night): Ride along the Werra river, eat a Bratwurst, enjoy historical Gotha, visit the church in Arnstadt where Bach played.
     

  •  Ilmenau (2 nights):  some rolling terrain through woods in lovely surroundings, hike or bike to the cabin where Goethe wrote one of his most famous poems.
     

  • Weimar (2 nights): Ride along the rivers into historical Weimar, visit the Bauhaus exhibition, ride to the Buchenwald concentration camp.
     

  • Erfurt (2 nights): Walk the covered bridge in Erfurt, ride the green countryside, experience the local hoppy flavors in a small brewery.
