The Netherlands:
South Holland and Bruges
May 1 – 10, 2023
$5200 (double occupancy)
$750 single supplement
Arrive and Depart from the Amsterdam Airport
You’ll begin in Zeeland, the southwestern province where the landscape and history are dominated by the sea. We will also visit Bruges in Belgium, the magnificent town in Flanders that seems frozen in time. You’ll pedal through lowlands and across dikes, visit fishing villages and stop into merchant towns.
In Brabant and Limburg, the landscape will change. Instead of fertile clay grounds, you will see extensive heather fields, woods, and marshes. Here, you’ll ride a network of lovely bicycle paths. We’ll meander through Belgium and the Netherlands, following an old smuggling route.
After three days in Brabant and an insider’s look at one of the oldest windmills in Belgium, you will arrive in the southernmost province of Limburg.
We will end near Maastricht, a gem of a town (and the oldest Dutch city), that dates back to Roman times.
Bicycling
Easy, with some hills on one afternoon. We'll ride between 25 and 35 miles daily.
